Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 14, 2026
1. Scope and contact
This policy describes how YTAnswers processes information through the Chrome extension, ytanswers.com, and api.ytanswers.com. Questions and privacy requests can be sent to info@webdesigndetail.de.
2. Information we process
- Account data: Google account identifier, email address, display name, login time, usage allowance, and subscription status.
- Video data: YouTube URL and video identifier, public transcript, generated questions and answers, timestamps, and processing status.
- Payment data: Stripe customer, checkout, and subscription identifiers and subscription lifecycle events. Card details are collected by Stripe, not by YTAnswers.
- Operational data: request time, source, IP address, browser user agent, request identifier, errors, and rate-limit or abuse signals.
3. Why we use it
We process this information to:
- authenticate users and provide the extension service;
- retrieve a public video transcript and generate timestamped Q&A;
- enforce free and paid usage limits and manage subscriptions;
- secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service; and
- meet accounting, fraud-prevention, and other legal obligations.
Where applicable, the legal bases are performance of a contract, legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, compliance with legal obligations, and consent where the law requires it.
4. Service providers
YTAnswers uses specialist providers only as needed to operate the service:
- Google for sign-in and identity verification;
- Bright Data for retrieval of public YouTube transcript data;
- OpenAI for generation of questions and answers from the transcript;
- Stripe for checkout, billing, and subscription management;
- MongoDB and Redis for application storage and caching; and
- Amazon Web Services for server infrastructure.
These providers may process information in countries outside your own. Where required, transfers are protected through recognized safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses. We do not sell personal information.
5. Retention
Retention is limited by purpose. Current defaults retain provider snapshots for 30 days, terminal jobs and request records for 90 days, billing and privacy audit records for one year, and cached Q&A for 7 days. The privacy audit uses a pseudonymous receipt record; recreation suppression is enforced for 24 hours so a stale login token cannot immediately recreate a deleted account. Data is deleted or anonymized when it is no longer needed. You may request deletion as described below.
6. Security
We use encrypted transport, authenticated API access, restricted provider callbacks, access controls, rate limits, and operational monitoring. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or export personal information, and to complain to a data protection authority. Verified users can use the account and privacy controls to export or delete associated data. You can also contact us, revoke YTAnswers access from Google Account settings, and uninstall the extension.
8. Children
YTAnswers is not directed to children under 13, or a higher minimum age where local law requires it. Contact us if you believe a child provided personal information without appropriate authorization.
9. Changes
We may update this policy when the service or legal requirements change. The effective date above identifies the latest version. Material changes will be communicated through the website or extension where appropriate.
